Follow Jesus

What does it mean to be saved?

Salvation is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. It begins when you repent of your sin and ask Jesus to come into your life. The Bible says,

“For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. Yet God, in his grace, freely makes us right in his sight. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he makes sinners right in his sight when they believe in Jesus” (Romans 3:23- 26 NLT).

The Bible advises us,

“Now repent of your sins and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped away” (Acts 3:19 NLT)

The first step to salvation is to recognize that you are a sinner. Know that Jesus paid the price for your sins by dying on the cross. Ask Him to forgive you and He will.

What happens next?

The Bible says:

“And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son” (Romans 5:9-10 NLT).

You will experience the love and mercy of the Jesus Christ in your heart. Ask Him to live in you so that you can spend eternity with Him, “I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one can snatch them away from me” (John 10:28 NLT).

Pray Like This

Jesus, please forgive me of all my sins and cleanse me from all unrighteousness. Father, accept me as Your child and give me eternal life in heaven with you. From this day onward, I am a child of God and I will believe and obey Your Word. I am now forgive because of the blood of Jesus Christ and my sins are forgotten I am now a child of God, and Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life. Amen.
